Happpy Valentines Day 2021, everyone! In this episode, filmmaker Chris Esper and I dive deep into one of our all-time favorite films: Casablanca from 1942! It’s not a sappy romance movie, but an incredible tale of a guy who has been trying to shed his past while the Nazis are creeping in, and a woman from his past who comes back into his life, shattering all the emotional barriers he’s built up!
Casablanca is one of those films that just keeps getting better upon each viewing and you always notice something that you didn’t notice before in previous viewings! With an amazing cast including Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Claude Rains, Peter Lorre, Sydney Greenstreet, and Conrad Veidt, Casablanca is a fabulous amalgamation of several things that shouldn’t have worked together, but somehow make this movie constantly rank in the top 5 lists of film lovers around the world!
So sit down with your loved one to watch this film for Valentine’s Day, and if you listen to this show first, you can impress them with what you have learned!
