Spency and Patsy the Angry Nerd return yet again for a great Zombie comedy from 2006, Fido, starring comedian Billy Connolly! In an Earthly world resembling the 1950s, a cloud of space radiation has shrouded the planet, resulting in the dead becoming zombies that desire live human flesh. The humans have won the war against the zombies, for the most part, and while they can still only be killed by having their brain destroyed, a company called Zomcon has been able to control the zombie population with a domestication collar. In the town of Willard, the Robinsons – father Bill, mother Helen, and adolescent son Timmy – are one family who don’t own a zombie as a domestic servant, since Bill is afraid of zombies. The Robinsons end up getting a zombie, much to Bill’s chagrin, and when Fido’s collar falters it sets off a chain reaction of events that may be difficult to contain.
We had some great laughs discussing this film which has become a classic in its own right, as a heartwarming tale about a boy and his zombie. So check it out and then come back for our discussion!
