Bizarre News on Mummified Remains of Yvette Vickers

New York Daily News is reporting that Yvette Vickers best known for her starring role in the “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman”  (1958) was reportedly found dead by police last week, at her Los Angeles home.   The 82-year-old actress’s body was mummified leading police to suspect the actress had been dead for over a year.  At first, the remains were unrecognizable causing the identification of the body to take some time.   Attention was brought to the police by concerned neighbors after cobwebs had built up on the actress’ mailbox.  The 1920’s style house had fallen into disarray with broken windows and an unkempt lawn.  Yvette was, as neighbors described her, “very nice, but kept to herself.”  Most people living in the neighborhood believed she had friends or some caretakers and she received letters requesting photos of the 82-year-old actress.  Yvette Vickers although best known for her starring role in the “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman,” also posed for Playboy (1959) and starred in the film “Hud”  (1963).   At the time of publishing this article, it is unclear if Yvette Vickers is survived by any family.
