For the weekend of 4.15-4.17.2011:
The fourth installment in the Scream series, Scream 4 (#2), was beat by a flock of birds in family-friendly, Rio (#1), by coming in with $19.279 million for its premiere weekend. It is considerably more than the original Scream (1996) at only $6 million but less than Scream 3 (2000) at $34.7 million. Will it be the end of Kevin Williamson’s dreams (or is it nightmares?) for a Scream 5?
Insidious remains strong at #7 with $6.857 million (total gross $35.983 million).
