Sunday’s premiere of Falling Skies brought in 5.9 Million viewers with 2.6 Million of that being adults 18-49 and 3.6 Million being adults 25-54. These numbers were pretty solid considering it beat out last year’s premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead although the zombie-based show had slightly better numbers in the adult demographics. The true test will be with next week’s episode which slides into its normal time slot of 10PM. In the past, time shifts have been known to drop viewership but with the strong marketing presence that Falling Skies has, it might not slip much. Though not all of the numbers out yet, it would be interesting to see what the combined ratings of Falling Skies and its second helping rerun did in comparison to the combined viewership of The Walking Dead and it’s rerun the same day.
